Stormi is a Resident in Counseling and completed her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She also received a B.A. in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and an A.A. in Social Sciences from Bossier Parish Community College. In addition, she also works at Inner Circle Incorporated, assisting teens referred by the court services unit for anger management.
Clinical Focus Areas and Counseling Approaches
Stormi works online and in-person with individuals age 13 and up, as well as couples and families. She helps clients address issues including Depression, Anxiety, Relational Conflicts, Trauma, Anger Management, Women’s Issues, and Self-Esteem. Her approach with clients blends elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.
From Stormi’s perspective, “I am passionate to raise awareness that mental health is a vital aspect of our wellbeing, connecting to all other areas of our health. I believe fully in the power of healing through therapy. To foster this, I focus on working with my clients to validate their feelings, acknowledge their strengths, and overcome life’s stressors to move toward healing and wellness.”
Stormi previously served for 4 years as a civil service employee with the United States Air Force. Through her work there, she discovered both the critical need and her personal passion for helping military members and their families through their unique difficulties and life stressors. She particularly enjoyed working directly with airmen, facilitating discussions about the importance of mental health and providing mentorship to new airmen.
