Aubrie Caskey, LCSW

Aubrie Headshot

Aubrie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia. Her dedication to treating all individuals with dignity and respect drives her passion in assisting with access to mental health services for all.

Clinical Focus Areas

Aubrie works both in-person and online with individuals ages 12 and up. Additionally, for her adolescents, she feels it is important to incorporate family sessions as needed to assist in the growth and healing. Aubrie supports those seeking assistance with life transitions, anxiety, depression, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and serious mental illness. Aubrie also offers expertise on serving military families and supporting individuals/families while navigating healthcare, school, and community resources.

Counseling Approach

Aubrie’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, acknowledging we are all products of our environment (person-in-environment theory). She incorporates concepts from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)—including radical acceptance, validation, and wise-mind—as well as thought-reframing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also borrows techniques from evidence-based practices developed in neuroscience, polyvagal theory, and emotional freedom therapy.

Professional Philosophy

According to Aubrie: “Coming to therapy won’t change our past experiences or our current life circumstances, but it can allow us to better understand how we’ve come to be the person we are, identify areas for growth, and develop skills to manage living life on life’s terms. The goal is to regain empowerment in our own lives. As a therapist, it is my greatest honor to embark on this journey with you.”

Educational Background

Aubrie earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) in Clinical Social Work with a Concentration in Healthcare at The University of Maryland in Baltimore and her Bachelor in Social Work (BSW) in Generalist Practice at The University of Texas at Austin.
