Erin is a Licensed Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia. Her understanding of coping with issues that interfere with living a fulfilling and meaningful life and experiencing joy and serenity led her to pursue a degree in clinical mental health counseling.
Clinical Focus Areas and Counseling Approach
Erin provides in person (Yorktown location) and online therapy for individuals aged 8 and up, along with couples and families. She is passionate about assisting and supporting those who are experiencing life challenges, have had traumatic experiences, or need some additional support. She supports clients in areas such as stress, life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, divorce, family issues, communication, grief, self-esteem, behavioral concerns, and social emotional development, and more.
Counseling Approach
Erin works with clients using a collaborative, person centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. She tailors her work to each client’s unique needs and strengths using aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Child Centered Play Therapy. Erin is also a Brainspotting Practitioner.
Professional Philosophy
From Erin’s point of view, “I consider it a unique privilege to be able to be part of someone’s journey as they seek wellness. I truly believe that healing comes from within and collaborate with each of my clients to discover how best to support them on their journey to wholeness. I focus on creating a safe space where you feel supported and valued as we explore ways to face and overcome challenges so that you can flourish and grow.”
Educational Background
Erin received her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William and Mary. She earned a B.A. in English with a Creative Writing emphasis from Eastern Kentucky University. She continues her professional development in ongoing supervision with Clinical Director Dr. Jill Nardin, LPC and in continuing education for Brainspotting practitioners.
Professional Experience
Erin previously worked in the event industry working with individuals to realize their vision in events such as family reunions, anniversaries, weddings, and team building. Her experience guiding her teams to explore their strengths in supportive, collaborative environments informs her approach in working with clients as well.
Fun Facts About Erin
- Erin enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, camping, kayaking, or just swinging in a hammock on sunny day reading.
- She and her husband plan to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in a few years.
- She enjoys playing games such as RPGs, strategy, and cards, with her family and friends.
- She enjoys practicing yoga, swimming, and is looking forward to learning Tai Chi.
- Her favorite colors are jewel-tones, especially emerald green and amethyst.
- Her favorite music performers are Amy Winehouse, Lindsey Stirling, and Paloma Faith.

She is also able to see those not on these insurances for a sliding scale, negotiable fee.
