Karli is an Intern in Counseling pursuing her M.A. in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She also received her B.S. in Crisis Counseling from Liberty. Her A.A.S. in Human Services is from Wytheville Community College.
Clinical Focus Areas and Counseling Approaches
Karli exclusively provides online counseling at Free Spirit and works with individuals age 10 and up. She works with clients seeking support for issues including Depression, Anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, self-esteem, boundaries, and ADD/ADHD. She tailors her counseling approach from a base of person-centered therapy, combined with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a strengths-based focus.
From Karli’s point of view, “Creating a therapeutic relationship that is safe, trustworthy, respectful, and collaborative is of the utmost importance. I believe counseling is empowering and even life changing when someone finds the right fit with their therapist. I’m passionate about helping each client channel their inner strengths and find resources so they can develop tools to work through whatever may be preventing them from living their life to the fullest.”
Karli served with the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Services, providing support to those experiencing trauma and loss during times of local and national disaster response. She has worked in community food pantries and other community outreach areas, giving her insight into the importance of accessing local resources to promote well-being. She also recently provided trauma training to help support and empower individuals in an underserved community.
