Clinical Focus Areas and Counseling Approaches
Retecka works online and in-person with individuals age 7 and up, couples and families. She blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy in her work supporting her clients. In addition, she can provide Christian Counseling upon request.

Therapy can unpack many challenges and layers in our lives, making it a powerful road to travel. I deeply believe therapy is also a journey to discover strengths, to gain tools to assist with everyday stressors, and to uncover the greatness rooted in every individual.”
Educational Background
Retecka earned an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health from Regent University. She received her B.A. in Human Services from Old Dominion University. She continues her professional training with Free Spirit owner and Clinical Director, Jill Nardin, PhD, LPC and has plans to pursue becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
Professional Experience
Retecka brings over 20 years of experience supporting vulnerable populations and their families in her work as a Juvenile Correctional Officer, a Detention Center Counselor and Supervisor, and a Juvenile Parole Officer. In addition, she served as a clinical therapist in a local adolescent residential program. Her diverse experience also includes working with the Military One Source (MOS) program assisting military service members and their families with various support needs.

For other non-Medicaid insurance, she sees clients for a negotiable sliding scale resident fee.
